Can A Decent Man Achieve Success In This...

I have just got a computer (2nd hand from a neighbour) with Windows XP etc .Upgraded the memory to 512 mb and installed a new sound-card that has 5.1 sound .
Everything seems to work fine , except I have a few DK Learning CD's for the kids ( some bought some of the freebies from the papers) , some of which install and open fine , others come up with a message saying something like ..."some elements of the sound on the system have been deleted???" and the discs terminate and don't open or install . Like I say others are no problem.
Any answers apprieciated .

Go to the sound card manufacturer's website and see if there are any driver updates to download.
I presume you got the 2nd hand PC with Windows XP already on it. If the above suggestions don't work, and you have the Windows XP CD, reinstall Windows XP and start from scratch.
