Monday. Overcast again! Chilly out too. Who nicked the summer?
A most enjoyable morning on the canal yesterday. We had about 90 visitors in the morning, from as far as New Zealand and Wyoming. The American family were delightful. Mum, dad and two lovely young daughters, who sat quietly and listened to all the information I gave them about the restoration of the canal. They asked intelligent questions and were impressed with what we are doing and that most of it is done by volunteers. They are now members of the trust! :o} As are the Kiwi couple.
A most enjoyable morning. Followed by an excellent lunch cooked by my mate's wife.
I'm ok, not sure about the others, haven't seen 'em yet as I've been out with dog. there's a lot of 'muttering' coming from the direction of the Shower rooms, Roger wandered in and came back covered in suds, so I think there may be at least one hangover involved ;o)
Morning all, Bright enough but a bit chilly up here. Must be the coldest summer I can remember apart from a few hot days earlier on. Get myself tidied up I think and get out for a stroll. Everybody else seems to be moving.
Beautiful weekend. We had a lovely day out on Saturday....went to see an old BT colleague of mine, who is now 86. He lives in a bungalow overlooking
Cardigan Bay and Poppet Sands ....a view to die for.
It was a best kind of British summer day....warm, without being hot, and very little wind.
But back to reality this week...rain due later today !
