I ordered a pair on-line and when they arrived I saw they were marked size 11. Someone suggested they might be marked in American sizes and that would correspond to the UK size 10 that I wanted.
There was at least half, maybe 3/4, of an inch sticking out behind my heels when they were on. Is that the way they should be?

Bit oversized is way better than under. Don't wear them myself but Mrs Oz loves the things. Looks a bit like Goofy when she wears them, a bit on the large size, makes her feet look big.
Not really Sandy......I have a few pairs ( well, 8 actually ) and they should fit snugly. I wear size 8½ to 9 shoes, so normally I go for a size 9 Crocs. But there is a slight difference in where they are made.

The best option is to go somewhere where they sell them and try them on.

By the way, they are the most comfortable footwear I have ever worn, as other aficionados will agree. A good 'net source is http://www.jellyegg.com/
It varies and you can choose how they fit, and to an extent on the style. Most of mine fit where they touch and stay on when i drive and do general stuff including running.
heres’s a link to the size guide and fit chart

They weren't massively oversized. If they send another size 11 I'll keep them.

I thought they were about £40 and I saw these on offer, blue colour only, at £22.50. But I see from the site in Woofgang's link they're not much more than that, £29.
I would have been better going to a shop and trying a few pairs on for size.
sandy....from what you say, one size smaller would be perfect !
I like them just slightly oversixed for airflow - with a small pair of socks they are excellent for long distance driving. Beware the Chinese made ones as some are treated with anti mould which can effectively burn sensitive skin.

I see in that link, Mikey, that Boots sell them. Theirs would be good quality and not the Chinese ones Crapatcryptics mentioned. I'll be in there today and have a look at whats on offer.
Thank you all.
Sandy...beware of Crocs lookalikes.

if it doesn't say Crocs, they aren't Crocs !
i bought my latest from the Croc site on special offer at £16
Some lookalikes are just as comfy and they aren't pretending to be real crocs.

I used to wear them for work. They are not the best fashion wise but so comfy if you're on your feet all day.

You see lots of people wearing crocs in hospitals.
The hospital ones are colour coded to departments and go in the washing machine every few days.

1ozzy, when you mentioned Goofy I thought of Minnie Mouse. She seems to wear them too.
I admit it 'I am a Croc-oholic' Imust a least 15 pairs in all colours.... (I take a size 5 uk shoes an buy us size 7 slightly large on me but soooo comfy!)
Beware Sandy -

I bought a pair of sandals about 2 months - £52 - and just wore them for the first time last Thursday. I have used this make many times but don't know what happened. I was out and about for a half hour when they started to cripple me - I couldn't get back home so persevered and that night whatever way I was walking earlier - I nearly dislocated my hip and knee - they were so painful on my feet. Into the bin they went as it was too late to send them back.

Moral of that last story - make sure they are comfortable - wear them about the house.

Do you think that one finally caught up with Capt Hook? It got the one hand and then when the Capt retired, hung up his sea boots, and started to dress casually, fawn crocs included, it got the rest.
