Washing Machine Beeping?
12 Answers
My washing machine appears to be doing its thing, spinning, washing, water in the drum is grey, but it keeps beeping 5 times x 5 and then carrying on. Normally it only beeps when it is finished, and then 3 times. I have had trouble with it in the past where it wouldn't drain due to a blockage in the pipes. A man came out and it cost £1500 to sort it. Any idea what might be the problem?

At this stage I have never replced a pipe because it is blocked. There are loads of remedies for unblocking pipes. It may not sound as technical as you would like to hear, but as a rule a plunger, a length of spring wire and some proper waste pipe cleaner is all that is required to deal with almost all blockages.

I wish it was!! I came home and the kitchen sink was full to the brim of black water from the washing machine. I couldn't get it to rinse so i called an emergency plumber and he tried to unblock it from various ends, and couldn't. So he charged me the call out fee and left me with it just as bad as it was. He said in order to come back again the next day and do a major job sorting it, it would cost £1500. I had to call my landlord, who just wanted it fixed. He agreed to pay a reduced amount for cash. One day karma will catch up with that man!
