whats the best and worst things you have seen changing around you?

For me the best thing is the internet and the access to information that its given me - I feel privileged to have this.
...the worst thing is watching the TV/media changing from being mainly about the program / topic to becoming about the personality ( or should I say non-personality) I have discarded my TV years ago because of this.

Happy birthday
Quoi, I would agree with you on the internet, but would also like to qualify that by saying apart from from the proliferation of mobile phones, used continuously, from walking in the street with head down to sitting in cafes, with friends! Can't bear that :(

Best thing...in the Uk, the improvement in health and living standards....globally, the sharing and concern for others supported by information sharing.

Worst thing the resurgence of the “isms"

what amazes me is the stuff people put up on the internet in the first place. I wonder which book might answer my question about the nutritional difference between a golden and red beetroot !
This thread was prompted by the news that C. Biggins had been kicked out of celeb Big brother - so for curiosity I checked who the others were - oh dear!

cheat - thats not a book!
Well it's an informative article that could be printed out into a small book I suppose.
A bit like a post from jim360 then?
Definately the internet IMO, and in 25yrs time there should be no excuse for thick people to say, I wasnt educated, as everything you want to know, and more can be found there.

The worst:
Manufacturing plastic goods of all descriptions, without finding the solution of how to dispose of them safely, and not harm our planet.
As the others have said, the good thing is the internet. The bad, well there seems to be way more 'doasilikey' families now than there ever were and I can't bear them.
