Makng Silver Plate Cutlery Shiny Again

My cutlery has got a matt finish, the shine has gone. I get the tarnish off with soda crystals and foil in boiling water which is great... But the shiny look has gone. Will anything get this back? Thanks all

Check out the aluminium foil technique by web searching. If anything can help then that should.

Foil technique makes them very clean.... But not shiny any more !!

That sounds like the original plate has worn away. There may be a method for DIY silver plating or may be less fuss to get it professionally done

I agree...it seems as if the silver plating has worn away. Its only microns thick, and is easily damaged.

Get them replated or buy an expensive canteen of good quality stainless steel, that always stays shiny !
