the depo injection is a contaceptive but also stos your period.

The contraceptive pill if you dont take a break between packs, and the contraceptive implant or depo injection. I would imagine it might take a couple of months for your body to settle with it though and you may get some breakthrough bleeding.

oops - it cut me off before I had finished sorry - yes - as my periods are heavy, I often get help before I go on holidays so my hols don't get ruined by not being able to feel free swimming and sunbathing etc. My doc gives me the mini pill for the period of my vacation and I stop taking it on the day I come home. I then come on within a couple of days. Thats a short-term solution if thats what you were looking for. Other than that, in the past when on the depo injection, I didn't have a bleed for over five years.
