Sticking Down Vinyl Floor Tiles...help!
10 Answers
OK I have a wood sheet floor that I need to stick vinyl floor tiles to. What glue do I need any ideas? ideally some sort of spray on product would be good. There is plenty out there but they all seem to be for carpet tiles and textiles. Anyone know what works for this? thanks

Jeza, I know what you mean - I had vinyl plank panels on the floor in the front room, when we came to put laminate floor down the builders didn't even try to ungoo the sticky stuff, they just laid it over the top..... however, the vinyl self-adhesive tiles in the bathroom were laid straight on the floorboards, and the cat managed to lift two of them all by himself when I shut him in the bathroom the other night...

Just Google for 'vinyl floor tile adhesive'. Loads to choose from. I'd advise laying 3mm hardboard on top of your wood floor first, nailing it every 4", and sticking the ties to that, using a spreader. That way, it would be far, far easier to lift them if you ever want to. Trying to remove them cleanly if they're stuck to the wooden floor will be almost impossible, and you'd almost never be able to get rid of the last of any adhesive residue. (Using a spray is messy - with a spreader it's much more controllable).
