Getting Money Back
6 Answers
Hi,
My boyfriend brought a laptop online from a big company. When it was delivered and turned on for the first time it was obvious there was something wrong with it so he phoned the company and they agreed. He sent it back so they could repair it.
He has it back and there is still a huge problem with which the company agree. They have told him to send it back for repairs a second time. Is he within his rights to ask for his money back rather than have it repaired for a second time?
Thanks in advance

Advise your friend that he insist on a refund or brand new replacement and if bought by credit card advise the Company that the item was 'not fit for purpose'

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies here and it states that a company is allowed one attempt at repair only and if that fails then a refund must be given.
As already stated he should have insisted on a refund straight away. However, it is clear that he hasn't been able to use it so should get a full refund.
