Did you know if you cook pasta, let it cool, then reheat it, it is much healthier for you. Apparently it decreases the effect it has on your blood sugar and turns it from a high GI carb into a low GI carb. This is good if you need to keep your insulin levels stable.

It's a "resistant starch". Same for potatoes. I'd just not eat it, though.

Didn't realise it was the same for potatoes.
I must eat more twice baked potatoes then !
Doesn't it go all stodgy??
I often leave cold pasta for my sons to reheat when they get in. If you pour a kettle full of boiling water over it it's as good as new!

I don't know Smow, haven't tried it yet. But potatoes are fine cooled and reheated.
It does go stodgy but is fine after the boiling water has been poured over
oooo so when i cook jacket spuds & cba to eat them so slice and fry them the next day... that's actually me being healthy :-D
Lasagne al forno always tastes better if it is reheated the day after.
