Private 'no parking' signs are useless they have no legal standing even on a private road.
The driver you mention and any other drivers have as much right to park there as you do.
You are not liable for any damage to his car unless you have caused it!

In that case pasta you could do the same as I did when someone parked on my space. Call the police, give them the reg number and they will find what info they have on the culprit. In my case they had his mobile number. He was in a house up the road and moved it within 5 mins of me contacting the police. I live in a parking zone where you have to pay to park if you don't have your own parking space so it is infuriating to then have to pay while someone is using your spot for free.
