I know that if you have a patch that has dried darker than the rest, whitening toothpaste general can clear patches up. Not sure how it would be if you want to take the whole lot off, plus you might smell minty fresh for a while! Good luck!
exfoliating lots will help get rid of it quicker I think
fake pale body spray?
you can buy fake tan remover by st tropez they sell it in boots i think
Nail varnish remover
lemon juice?
Go swimming. Read that once in a beauty mag. Chlorine in the water takes tan off. But that doesn't mean go wash yourself in bleach.
Turpentine?
Sea water and swimming pool water took mine off in the summer.
Well, I use that Jergens "glow" moisturizer just to get some color on my legs and arms etc.. now that it's shorts and skirts season, and in the past it has worked quite well. Unfortunatley last week i had an incident and somehow it pooled in spots all down my legs and i had 2 big brown streaks on both legs! Some people suggested that over time baby oil works quite well (i wasn't too keen on the salt and lemon juice deal, or scrubbing off 3 layers of skin with a loofa), so I just went to soak in the bathtub and get it off, but I couldn't find any baby oil. My mom is really into essential oils and all, so the closest thing i could find was this stuff called squaLINE oil. It worked so wonderfully, I had only just put it on and rubbed it in and it just came right off! It was wonderful how I just put it on and washed it off, and...no more splotches! If you can find any (it's available on most essential oils websites, and it is relatively inexpensive) you should see if it works for you, if not, I'm sure babyoil will work just fine. I don't know if it is the same deal with normal fake tanners vs. the jergens stuff, but it's worth a shot!

I've used the new Loreal dry tanning mist & it's rubbish, my legs look okay but my feet look like an Oompa Loompa, i have managed to tone it down with cotton wool pads soaked in Vinegar. Doesn't smell that great but i then exfoliated with a mitt & lots of shower gel, then moisturised (non-tinted) then lots of perfume. seems to have done the trick. GOOD LUCK
