Dryness on my penis

Im not sure if you can actually ask sexual related questions on this- but it comes under body so here it is....

After masturbating I can sometimes get a red dry patch of skin at the base, which I've never seen before until recently. it takes a few days to go away- but why does it happen and has it happened to anyone else.

Is it a chaff marks? I'd try lubrication aswell. Or seek help from a doctor.

the only way to describe it is it looks like a tiny burn, but very red.

It could be athlete's foot!

No, I'm not joking. The same fungal infection which causes athlete's foot is also responsible for 'jock itch'. This usually presents itself as a dry, reddened area around the groin but can also affect the scrotum and the base of the penis. While the fungus may be present all of the time, the symptoms (i.e. dry, red patches) usually only make themselves known when rubbing of the skin occurs (as, for example, during masturbation).

Any pharmacy will sell you a tube of Canesten AF cream for under three quid. As the 'AF' implies, it's primarily designed for athlete's foot but it says on the box that it's also used to treat jock itch - so you can be assured that it really is suitable for the more delicate parts of your anatomy!

Just want to say thanks for the comments and to loopylou for making me laugh, having searched "jock itch" online further - yes i would say it was that for sure and have ordered some canesten colourless spray for it...

Its only cos now at 26 i've noticed it more. I've let other periods of it go in the past but now ive seen it again. - and it makes me look like I've had a right good old time of it..

Hi there , Buenchico sounds spot on to me; similar thing would happen to me when younger and playing lots of rugby and training etc. Canestan definitely helps. Do remember tho, just because it's yours you don't need to wash it as fast as you can !!Good luck.

Hi Jason, I dont like the idea of putting horrible chemicals on to my body, remember all these things go through your skin into your blood stream, vaseline is derived from crude oil - which eventually dries ou the skin - same as lipsyl - petroleum based so your lips become drier so you use more! Anyway what you could use instead is natural massage wax containing beeswax, olive oil, sweet almond etc. and add a drop of lavender or chamomile. much nicer and gentler and it'll taste nicer too- if you're lucky!

I do now know 100% what my problem was. I have patched of ordinary dry skin, which gets worse with the rubbing of dry skin to skin. The patched were so red I could have stopped traffic !!

Although your idea is to use natural products and I'll smell like one of those plug-in air fresheners.

I have put nivea creme on it.
