Quite often after having an alcoholic drink I get very intense pain behind my ears. It happens when I swallow and lasts up to an hour. I think that it has something to do with the acidity on the saliva glands. Does anyone else suffer this pain when consuming alcohol?

yeah get to your doctors and get it checked.

That is the area of your lymph glands and it may indicate possible lymphoma or other lymphatic related problem.
sorry should have said one of your lymph glands (or nodes) you have a lot more than those.
See above- 'dreamer56'. It could be alcoholic neuropathy, or an allergy to the alcoholic drink. Red wine can-sadly- contain ingredients renowned for allergic reactions. I have searing ankle pain, and I am now thinking it follows alcohol consumption, maybe especially red wine! It's so damned annoying that I dud not enter my consumption patterns in a diary, but one doesn't feel like it when writhing in a foetal position for about 10-20 seconds!
