Be aware with Virgin that their pricing structure can make it more expensive to have broadband without a landline than with.

yes we stopped paying BT a year ago but the line is still theirs, the only difference is we now pay the line rental to our broadband provider (Tiscali/Talk-talk)

Then you've understood it better than me. There is no Virgin in my area and I couldn't be faffed with the dongle solution plus we get the BT fibre optic line - we just don't have to pay or deal with them anymore.

You can get a mobile device that allows internet access. without having to have a land line. Put it in your pocket use it anywhere. 3 and Vodaphone plus others.

all smart mobes have this but you have to pay for data which is not cheap while your out of wi-fi connection

Mobile broadband is okay if you only use the internet sparingly and have a good 4G connection.
