Mondeo Wiper Problems

If there is anyone who can offer some thoughts on this:-

Mondeo 04 GhiaX 2.5

Wipers in fast and normal do not park immediately - they stop where ever and then
after a couple of seconds start again and park
Wipers in intermittent ( with rain sensor - not variable speed dial ) do not work at all
Wipers in single wipe work OK
Auto wash and wipe does not work at all ( washers spray water but that's it )
Lights in 'auto' work fine
Central locking works fine

Been to garage :-
Relays OK
Switch OK
Motor OK
Diagnostics say GEM is OK
however diags computer shows wipers 'park = yes' is a bit random

Sounds to me like the wiper stalk is up the creek ( quite common on MK3 Mondeo's I believe ).
I'd swap it over for another one if I were you, fairly straight forward job to swap them over.

Just re-read your op and I see your car has rain sensitive wipers, so make sure that you swap the wiper stalk for one that is ok for rain sensitive wipers.
