I recently turned off my cold water supply to the house in order to drain the system so i could install a new pump. The problem however is I am not getting any cold water upstairs in the bathroom. I am getting plenty of water in the kitchen downstairs. The water comes out fine at first upstairs but then the pressure drops. There is water in the water tank in my loft and whatever water comes out of the tank it is filled back up agian.

Does anyone have any tips?

Thanks

Hi clarky, sounds like you have an air lock, try opening all the cold taps then turn off the mains, let the water drain ,turn the mains on again and see if water comes through then, another thing you can try is open cold tap on basin put your mouth over the spout and suck hard, this may draw the water through, let us know how it goes, Ray
Well, the kitchen tap is fed direct from the main incoming water supply but the rest of the house is fed from the water tank in the roof. So this sounds like you might have a partial blockage in the outlet pipe from the tank, probably some stuff got sucked in when you drained the system. one thing that might work is to pressure it in reverse and try to push anything back into the tank - just connect a pipe from the kitchen tap to the bathroom tap and open both taps for a while, then see if it is OK.
