I am stuck on two brain teasers which I am not good at anyway

1. How many days before 17th August is it, if 50 days ago, it was four times as many days since March 30th

2. When can you add two to eleven and get one as the correct answer.

Bet I will kick myself when I get the answers

The first one is 15 days before August 17th. There are 140 days between the two dates, so 15 + 50 = 65, 4 x 15 = 60. So 15 + 65 + 60 = 140.

I can only guess at the second one - how about if you add two thirteenths (as a fraction) to eleven thirteenths - that would make thirteen thirteenths - which is one......

If its not that then maybe something along those lines or maybe to do with roman numerals (which im not good on!)
