What is it with the BBC and cookery programmes.First you have the contestants baking their bread and then being judged and their baking sensibly and knowledgeably commented on by Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry( Gregg Wallace please note). Then the programme is let down by those two alleged commediene's Mel and Sue whose inane prattling and attempts at being funny are completely unnecessary and definitely unfunny.Perhaps they could be found a dustpan and brush each which would seem to me to fit their talents better.
I quite agree. Mel on her own would be fine but Sue Perkins doesn't do it for me. And for heavens sake will someone tell Mary Berry the word is Layers not lairs.
Rant over. Thank you.
It's clear that the BBC have hit a winner here, and with far more viewers than most other progs, it's detractors will be correspondingly higher in numbers.
Personally, I never watch cookery shows because I have no interest in food whatsoever, but BBC are clearly ticking boxes because of the show's growing popularity.
If they got Michelle Keegan cooking in a bikini, I would watch, but not otherwise.
I agree with ginge, in a similar way that Strictly isn't a serious dance show but an entertainment show based on dancing.
I really like both Mel and Sue, am not overly keen on Mary to be honest. I love to see Paul poking and squeezing the attempts at bread making...
Andy - Michelle Keegan - was on after the cookery programme - in an army play - ITV - so if you want to look out for her next week cos I think this army programme is on another 4 times.
From he little I've seen of it, it's more about inclusivity at any price than cookery.
Crabby old woman, token attractive white male, lesbian in a suit, odd looking bird with comically dodgy teeth and of course, the rainbow of contestants.
I did actually - I was travelling back from holiday, but I will be hitting the I-Player to catch up.
MK can look sexy in a set of khakis - in fact, I can't think of a situation where she would not cause a loud ringing noise in my ears, followed by darkness ...
