Oh Strikes Again

Bought some Chinese nibbles from Lidl today. When we got back to holiday park he decided to cook them. He got a tray out of the cupboard, laid them out very neatly and put in the oven. Twenty minutes later he opened the door and thick black smoke and flames gushed out. The smoke alarm started to go off. The tray he had used was black plastic. It had melted all over the oven shelf and bottom of the oven. Luckily the snacks were OK.
We managed to clean the oven bottom ok and under the bottom tray but the shelf was beyond anything. All black tatters of solid melted plastic that would not come away.
We went down the office and fessed up. I offered to pay but girl said she thought it would be ok but would have to ask.
I don't know how he manages to keep doing these cockups but he does.

You should have let the plastic cool and then it lifts off.

We did JJ but it wouldn't come off the shelf. Just hung down the slats in tethers.

He was only trying to be helpful I guess but sometimes it's just better to do it yourself! Did you eat the snacks anyway?
