Just had a call from my daughter, she went to the house to check if everything is ok. Funny smell, she went in the kitchen and the freezer door is open, water all over. The floor, all food ruined. The freezer was full. I had joints, salmon, loads of prawns, chops. Too much to mention.
This is the second time this has happened to me. I think it was about two years ago it happened. The insurance company were brilliant then, they. Paid up with no bother but are they going to do it this time.
I feel absolutely devastated, I've lost some really special food.

Caran I don't see why they wouldn't. Has your daughter made a list of everything that was in the freezer, or perhaps taken a photo of it?
By the way did you accidentally leave the door open - if so there might be a problem with the insurance

I don't know if I did MargoTester, but the door has always been a bit suspect, it has done it before but I caught it in time. This was a different freezer to the last one.
Last time I listed everything and the value of it but the insurers were not interested. Just told me to dump everything and paid out the insured amount.
Oh, Caran! What a shame. I do feel for you. You need to buy a new freezer with the insurance payout, I think.
Fingers crossed then, I would go ahead and make a claim.
