In what way do you want to connect them? Can't you do something with a laptop and iTunes or iCloud (admittedly I get a teenager to sort mine out).

I maybe wrong on this but I have always thought you can not link the two except via iTunes.

My photos all do it magically through iCloud (although the boy did have to set up my new phone as it was too whizzy for me).

Think you need to go into settings (on both phone and iPad) , then iCloud and tell each device what you want to go into iCloud (and then it transfers automatically). If the kids download something on the old iPad, it shows up on my new phone so I obviously haven't set it up properly.

You'll never guess what now
The keyboard on my iPad is now split down the middle with a gap between!
How on earth did that happen

In the bottom right hand corner of your keyboard picture, is a picture of a key board. Press it and it will say undock or split, choose undock (I nearly had heart failure when I did it - the teenager wasn't here). Sorry for the late reply, I've been out (ok, I've been round my friend's house in my indoors clothes and crocs, but it's still 'out').
