I think he thinks he's covering for her, because he thinks she did it, but I don't think she did...too much thinking going on there!
That was a surprise to see the farm worker in such a compromising position with whatshername wasn't it, hadn't seen that coming! Incidentally I believe that's his real accent, isn't it due the part of Scotland he comes from?
I'm wondering what the connection is with the murdered grooms father who chucked himself under a lorry, got to be more to that, or was it just guilt?
