the PR company should write it off the resulting bad publicity kind of casts a negativity on the nature of their business..they may suffer from bad PR fallout themselves..much better they are seen to be benevolant

I'd agree with that, minty, if the PR company wasn't a two man family business that can't afford to work for nothing and if the PR work was used to raise funds for Mr Barnes and not publicity for Ms Cutler.

This has turned out to be a remarkable series of events.

An inspirational young woman who through her caring and selfless attitude created the circumstances that turned around the life of Mr Barnes.

Sadly, this extraordinary thought for another person, who has benefited substantially through Ms Cutler and subsequent donations, has not been reciprocated.

Mr Barnes stated that he didn't wish to get involved. I find that distasteful given the comfort and luxury that he now enjoys. His offer is derisory and a rotten way to show his gratitude. Having experienced a traumatic event himself, he is well placed to empathise with Ms Cutler's circumstances and to react as he has done is a kick in the teeth.

As for the company, they should display rather more compassion and recognise that sometimes life is not black and white and whilst they may be owed more than the amount they are claiming, that there is an ethical issue here.

One has to hope that the funds are raised in time but I fear the distress caused to Ms Cutler will leave some lasting scars.

It is not very often that we hear of acts of such human kindness being rewarded in this fashion.

It just goes to show how cruel life can be.

A bit of an update on proceedings.

Interesting update Mamya and Thankyou, it's all been a bit of a nightmare hasn't it.

It has yes, very convoluted and what should have been the proverbial happy ending has turned sour.

Sad that on some social media sites Mr Barnes has been so abused too - hope he hasn't read it.

All Mr Barnes had to do was privately issue a cheque or arrange a bank transfer.

No need to draw attention by starting up another online fundraising page and asking for friends to help. It would also have prevented unwanted attention.

It is now claimed by the PR company that she hired them in the hope of getting on Big Brother.
I'm not sure how much money Mr Barnes has left of his £150k after buying a house, he could have spent the lot.
