Had the podiatrist - for once that went well - getting there was a struggle the whole of Edinburgh was out in force this morning. Road closures didn't help.
Had a nice dash round the supermarket and then nipped to the Building Society and had to sort out the Hotel for Cardiff - what a palaver but that's done.

Then I had the hospital re the new meter...

We got enough information from it to decide where we can go from here BUT in 3 weeks time I go back for another 2 week stint on the blooming thing. I told my nurse about it what I like what I didn't and I agreed that I'd do it just this one last time.

Current plan is to inject before meals when possible - we had to negotiate on that one, DAFNE wants you to eat first and dose after so that incase you don't complete your meal you won't over dose. But now the hospital want you to do it before so I said it didn't work last time BUT I will try it on days where I'm not at work and where it is suitable and they ok'd that. Not to change my tea time ratio dosage and I've to attempt a Carb free meal when a good BM permits so can see what the Longer Lasting Insulin is up to. So got a bit to sort out.

On the plus side I told my nurse that I'm currently helping a girl get back on track with her Diabulimia - which I have been through and she is really proud that I can use my experience to help someone.

Now I'm away for a hot shower and curl up in my pjs with my Kindle for a spell.

Enjoy the rest of your evening

Bloody hell, queenie that sounds ( reads ) complicated.
Is it the speedway finals in Cardiff ?.
Well done Queen. Quite a day. Hope you enjoy shower and Kindle. I am in the Hilton stansted relaxing after a day teaching nearby. Last day tomorrow. Am all over the place at the moment. Last week Angola and next week Cairo! x

It feels like it Tony but it's more straightforward than it sounds. It's next years GP they finally announced the date :)

I'm sure I will Grasscarp. Ooh Cairo sounds lovely! I have a busy day again tomorrow too - can't wait for Saturday desperate for a long lie !!
Queenie - noticed your post re the girl you are helping. Sista noticed that nephew who has been recently diagnosed seems to be putting on weight. Weight that he really needs and suits. Does insulin make you gain weight. She says he is looking really well.

Sounds as if they don't see me as often and that would be true but sista lives near a great park where nephews bring their kiddies so call in to her. Have a good night Queenie.
Glad it's straight forward for you, queenie. I take that you have to book early for the GP then.

Wonder how hot it will be in Cairo ?.
Hi Tony. 32 degrees on Tuesday which is my first morning there. Will have to repaint my toe nails to be ok in sandals. (Not something that you will relate to!)
Your condition is like a full time job Queenie, I'm sad your not better controlled at the moment, well done helping a young person who only you can understand what's going on in her head. Would ng mum be proud. Good newsc about "" the toes " though :-)
Thats pretty warm, grasscarp. It'll be a bit of a shock to get back to UK temps after Cairo I should imagine.

LOL, your right there.
Oh I don't know about that Tony ,not from your picture last night ?
Oh gawd, I should have know'n that she would remember

Jenny - yes it can. A few reasons why. Obviously when diagnosed you lose weight as the body breaks down what it can to get energy but once you start getting it back in your weight should return to normal. Weight gain can also be a sign of too much insulin but that doesn't sound like the case.

It's all down to the stress and what not of losing mum Anne, I'm doing not bad but we have been working to try and resolve it the past few months. I'm neither up nor down I'm slap bang stuck in the middle. I know was great in and out quite quick this morning. She would and I feel great being able to be useful too.

What colour are you going for Grasscarp...I'd like to paint mine but my hip won't permit me to bed forward to do so, so they will have to be naked for a a spell.

If you want the hotel Tony yes and the tickets at last years prices you do need to get in early - they don't go on sale until Friday though.
So will you be booking tickets on Friday then, queenie.
Red Queenie. pink is too insipid. Dont like blue. If you lived a bit closer I would come and paint your toe nails!

I will indeed Tony - best 29th birthday ever :)

Aww Grasscarp that would be amazing. Might see if I can persuade OH to do it one night. I love a nice red polish too
thanks Queenie for your re-assuring answer - will show sista this wee post when I see her.
