Pre-Glued Melamine Edging For Mdf Shelves.
Hi. I need to put up some shelving in my kitchen. I've had an MDF board cut to size, and bought some wall brackets, and am now looking at buying some pre-glued melamine edging for the shelves to protect them.
The MDF is 18mm thick, and the edging appears to be 22mm wide - is this so that it can overlap the edge by 2mm on either side? And how would I achieve a smooth finish, especially around the corners? I understand that one irons it on? If I'm intending to paint the flat surfaces, would I apply the edging FIRST before painting the surfaces, so that the paint can be flush to the edge?
Thanks everyone!
