left click on the task bar and click 'properties' and make sure that the 'lock task bar' box is not checked. you should be able to lift & drag it then.
sorry, right click :-)

thanks the task bar isn't locked but all i can do is drag it across the page (right to left) making it wider, but i can't bring it down (top to bottom) have you got anyother ideas? thanks though
If all else fails, try a System Restore back to when it was across the bottom.
Don't drag it when you're at the edge of the tyaskbar with that wee arrow : make sure your mouse is right in the centre of the taskbar with only the normal white mouse arrow showing. Drag it then after you've made sure that the taskbar isn't locked.
