Computer For A Jaguar

my ex said that you can buy this portable machine that you can plug into a jaguar and it will tell you whats wrong with the car. Does anyone know what it's called or where i can buy one from please?

It will be a OBD fault code reader, tandh. Like this below.

Plugs into the diagnostic socket ( usually under the dash drivers side ), it will read any faults stored in the ECU.

It will have to be the correct OBD fault reader for your Jag though.

Has the engine management light been on ?.

If it has then the ECU will have stored the fault.

yes! thanks guys, this is exactly what i meant. There are two engine warning lights on, one is for the brakes and i'm not sure what the other problem is but this will tell me. I am looking to sell the car, and i'm hoping this will help me get a better price as they are not major problems. Thank you so much

Doubt if an OBD reader will tell you why your brake warning light is on, tandh.

They ( the brakes ) are separate to the ECU.

oh no, sorry. The brake light is on as there is a problem with the sensor, i need this to know what the other problem is. the light you showed me the picture of is on, do you think this will tell me what is wrong? Also do you know how old my car is if it's a 51 plate reg?

Probably got a duff ABS sensor on one of your wheels, tandh.

The OBD reader will read the fault that has put your engine management light on.

a peagoet 107. i've had him since i passed my driving test 4 years ago. He's never let me down, although i can really feel the difference between him and the jag, and i finally get why men want the bigger engine size
