"needed" usually means "not included". They wouldn't have to tell you what it needs if they were included, as you could see for yourself.

I realise now TWR is not saying he was mislead, just that in his opinion batteries should be included whether you want them of not.

My favourites are the tinned foods and underneath a picture of a corned beef salad for example - they have to print 'Serving suggestion only'

A friend of my Husband once bought a tool box ( a good one) and was enraged to find it didn't come with every tool under the sun as depicted in the catalogue.
