RAF serial no K6072 and others

I have found some old pictures of myDads from the 1930's . Taken at airshows in the 1930's they feature some RAF planes with numbers starting K and 4 numbers ( usually near the tail ). I have not had any luck finding a database on the net .

I imagine thay are a serial number to identify a particular plane. If anyone knows where I cab find the Database for these numbers i would be very grateful .

K6072 is a civilian registration previous to 1948. The first letter of the registration relates to the manufacturer, K being A V Roe (or, Avro). Any more than that I don't know. I very much doubt that there will be any record of it on the interweb thingumy.

Prior to 1940 RAF 'plane registration serial numbers did include Kxxx format.

This list unfortunately has a gap between K5384 and K6087 - from which point is a block of Avro 621 Tutors
