Gosh, is it that time of year again already? They always look pale green and boring though.
I`ve only seen them from the flight decks of aircraft though. Do they look good from the ground?
I've seen them from the ground in Norway.

They are still quite stunning and interesting to see, IMO, but an astronomer told me that the spectacular colours you see in photos and on tv are generally added post-production.
I agree. I have seen them many times and usually, they look like pale curtain that is whafting backwards and forwards in a breeze. They are usually pale and white. I have never seen the bright colours that you see in photographs.

Within 10mins of getting in position, it clouded over and started raining :-( Weather forecast was 'king wrong again.
You're making me wish I hadn't booked to go to Norway in March if they're not too impressive!
