Few people seem to have noticed this measure being quietly slipped in while we were all talking about 'Brexit'

What it means is that the LHA ( local housing allowance) will apply to pensioners in social housing from 2018. So the 'Bedroom Tax' is being forced on pensioners despite many claims that it would not be!

The problem is this will hit the poorest hardest.Near me it may not make a difference, the LHA for a 1 bed place is more than my rent for our 3 bedroom house, near Cambridge.
People in the low housing cost areas will be hit hardest , some places in the Northeast will see pensioners rents rise by £1700 a year!

that is the difficulty of regulating a market
the regulation will keep the prices low and not high
and when regulation stops because you have run out of money or something then the prices go boing
there was pressure to funnel demand into one bed accommodation
but hold on - as a landlord how many one beds do I have ?
well none actually
pressure to divert to a market that doesnt exist
thats what we pay our taxes for !
now as part of Brexit liberation and further british bulldog freedom I will be forced to check the immigration status of potential tenants .... am I gonna be given any powers to check ? o god no just given heavy fines (hur hur hur) if I dont
o roll on brexit ! tge future is gonna be much much better than before !
