No best answer has yet been selected by wonder years. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I subscribe to the view that the apparent speeding up of time as we get older is an aspect of proportion. For example, the year from one's 9th to 10th birthdays represents 10% of one's total life to date...quite a large chunk. The year from our 59th to 60th birthdays is only 1.66% of our total life to date - if my sums are right!..quite a small piece. So, the youngster's year seems long to the youngster, whilst the oldster's year seems short to the oldster.
Believe me...they get faster and faster!
Time is relative. The length of a minute depends entirely on which side of the bathroom door you are standing!
Or as Albert Einstein said:
When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity.
So maybe it just depends on what we do with our time?
