I have a payg Nokia phone on the Vodaphone network. I am planning to buy Doro sim only phone. If I transfer the Sim card will I automatically retain my existing phone number??

In theory it's as easy as you suggest. (Your phone number, together with your account balance will automaticall y be transferred to any SIM-free phone which you put you SIM card into). However a quick bit of googling shows that at least some of the Doro range of phones use mini SIMs so, if your existing phone has a standard SIM, it won't fit into your new one.

We've recently changed from micro sim phones to nano sim phones. The normal sim cards were already indented so you could just break them off to the right size, no cutting needed

The only two current models that have 'mini' in their name appear to be the Liberto 820 Mini and the 820 Mini Claria (which is designed specifically for visually handicapped users). They both use micro SIMs.
Search for 'SIM cutter' on Amazon (ensuring that you read the product reviews) if you need to purchase a cutter. Or, possibly better, get the guy who runs the mobile phone stall in your local market to do the job for you!
