I've been good all week, eating well, with fish and at least two pieces of fruit every day and remembering to take my vitamin supplements. I've also been getting some exercise and, perhaps most importantly, staying off the booze.

However it's Friday night, I'm wide awake and there's some beer in the kitchen.

Actually, there's a bit less in the kitchen now, as there's a full tankard on my desk.

As I said before, "So much for good intentions" ;-)

I actually quite like autumn though, Anne!
//So Much For Good Intentions // That's what you said Chris.

Well I was intending getting into bed by 1.00hrs and hearing the news headlines on Radio 4 . That's gone so I've poured another class of plonk from the box.

By the way, I enjoyed reading your poem. In fact it made me think that
I am past the Autumn of life and I think at 84 I must be a good way into Winter.

Why is it that every time I make a correction in a posting, I end up signing off with two Hans.
I think Autumn lends itself beautifully to poetry - it's always been the one I find best to pen lines to.

Maybe that says more about me and my ability to write verse.

Thanks for your post, Hans.

I'm glad you enjoyed my poem (even though I keep thinking of things which would have made it better!). With global warming, the seasons are changing, so perhaps you're still only in early autumn?
;-)

Enjoy your wine!!!!

>>> I think Autumn lends itself beautifully to poetry

Agreed, Mamya, although my poem deliberately tries to show the other side of autumn!
I have just thunk, that I could be getting drunk. So, before another word is said, I'm off to bed.

Good night, I think I am tight.
