my old Gran used to say "howsenever cows over meadows" in the middle of a conversation, I think it meant "however", has any one els ever heard this ?

she was a coutry lass in her time.

my grandad who worked on a farm in the early 1930 always said well i never! the cows are over the meadows in respect to the weather is about to change for the worse. but i dont know if thats the same term your gran was saying.
