Well certainly not as hard as last week, but still was more challenging than I anticipated.

At first glance this looked like another week of certain failure, but a combination of yielding clues and a (very) lucky guess based on the first two words of the message set me nicely on course. I'm hopeless at diagonal symmetry so grid-building software was essential help. I think I understand the title - if I'm right it's a bit groanworthy!

Not an easy puzzle but very doable and good fun. Thanks Stan.

BobHWW, symmetrical about the diagonal means that if there is a vertical bar after the nth cell of row i, then there is a horizontal bar below the nth cell of column i and vice versa.

Not as difficult as last week, but my heart sank when I saw the grid, and then sank even further as I worked my way through about 15 clues without getting a single answer. On top of which I allowed the symmetry to create its own little problems. All nicely resolved now. Thanks Stan, it was much appreciated.

Sorry. Very hard work (some of those clues were tough) and to me a strangely anticlimactic end result although at least it is unambiguous. And I still don't get the title either which is even more annoying! :¬(

Although not at the insane level of last week, the blank grid made these clues surprisingly difficult.

Finally, this is the first time I've actually found the title to be useful - it confirmed something I needed to know at the time.
