Why do these companies always push the idea that you need to have your new sofa or whatever in time for Christmas? Why? What does it matter it doesnt and why would you want to risk a new sofa being covered in food and drink spills?

Don't know the answer, but my thoughts are exactly the same as yours. Sick to death of them.
When does the DFS sale start ?
Why are spills more likely to happen at Christmas?
Same for me , why anyone would want new furniture delivered for Christmas is beyond me.
DFS have a sale 365 days a year ! More to the point when does the 'normal' trading start?
Many people have friends and family round at Christmas and want the housr to look good. It's not just furniture - decorators are particularly busy at this time as people want their house decorated in time for Christmas. If you don't like it- you could ignore the ads, refuse to buy from anyone who advertises in this way or you could be a rebel and wait until January/February before ordering one- that'll show 'em

You must be a really clumsy family, I think our suites about 7-8 years old, all we've ever had to wipe off it is a few biscuit or sarnie crumbs, and for most of that time there's been 1 or 2 large dogs in the house (they were banned from the suite, but well, you know ;o)

Erm, Doh Eccles, what a silly question.
Bazile....very droll....> price reductions ending Monday< which Monday would that be then.
Arrggh! Every pre Xmas! It's just the usual hype....in time for Xmas...FGS! Just another commercial to remind us that Xmas is special...erm hmmm..NOT! Doesn't it get your goat? Commercialisation at Xmas at Its best and the low grades fall for,it. The power of advertising it seems...

Christmas, horrible time of year. We're going away, out of the way of grasping kids and parties. Peace and quiet.
