Led Or Cfl Bulbs?

Hi
I just bought a shade which is limited to 60W Incandescent bulbs, but it doesn't give any alternative ratings. What do you consider the highest rated LED or Halogen or CFL I can safely put in it? If possible I'd like to get close to 100W incandescent equivalent if possible.

An LED bulb with a Lumen ratying of 1521 will be equivalent to an old 100W incandescent, but will not produce the heat of a Halogen bulb, and will use significantly less power per hour.

LED every time....they run very cool and you can choose whether you want a "warm" or "cool" colour....the cool one being very white, like daylight. I've just replaced all my lamps with LED from Screwfix- terrific lamps and a bargain price too. Five-pack for £8.

The 60W limit is there because of the amount of heat given off by the bulb. That means, if you could get one, you could fit a 60W LED bulb. If you did it would be so bright that you wouldn't be able to stay in the room with it. The bottom line is that you can fit any LED bulb that you wish with no fear of damaging the shade.
