I don't understand why a lot of people are scared of spiders?

What exactly can a spider do to you? except run away from you.

I think they are very fascinating creatures, I think it is amazing how the make their webs, and the material they make it out of is at strong as cotton!!

If you don't have a phobia about spiders, then how can you possibly understand what people like me hate about them.

Theres like 8 legs yeah?That cannot be normal,if you dont have a phobia of them nothing will make you understand,when you see something with 8 legs running towards you with a gun on each leg,you aint gonna stop and admire its handiwork,i guarantee it!!

Awww I like spiders- well perhaps like's a bit strong, but I prefer them to flies! They catch and eat flies so I leave any spiders in peace that I find in my house :-)

i see the same spider as anyone else would, but I don't see anything that could scare me!!

Imagine what a spider would think of human giants about to stand on them with there huge size nine feet!!

I think your interpritation of a spider will only every happen in your imagination, electricblue!!

I think people who have a phobia of spiders are overreacting, unless one has tried to kill you, then I can understand.

sorry giraffe but you cannot blame anybody who has a phobia as of course they cant help it .do you think they enjoy being frightened every time they see the thing they fear?i personnally am not scared of spiders but am scared of heights and rollercoasters so i fully understand how other people feel.they are not overreacting to get attention.there must be something you fear giraffe?

I do have a phobia but what would you say if I was scared of buttons? then you would probably say, how can you be scared of buttons? If I dont have a phobia of spiders, then why would I try and understand someone who has,as I don't understand what there is to be afraid of?

All I was doing is making a point that spiders are interesting and that you shouldn't be scared!!

Instead of screaming everytime you see them, try watching at a distance at what they actually do and appreciate them more!!!

Oh i do watch them at a distance and i really admire the way they dissapear up the hoover hose!!

I fin spides fascinating, and will wath any number of programmes about them, and I like to study them when I see them but ....

if one is galloping across my lounge floor, I'm as phobic as the next person! I don't kill them though, my wife scoops them up and puts them outside.

I like spiders also. Here in the UK, I let spiders live in my house. However, when I lived in New Mexico, I found many Black Widows in our house. I killed them because they can make you very sick. They are scary poisonous spiders, but they are very cool looking.

Its terrible when you have a phobia, yes mine is spiders! When I'm sitting watching tele in the evening I can actually "sense" one in the room before I see it! When I do I cringe,start to sweat and feel sick. I dont want to feel this way I just do. And I do think a big one climbing on my body would kill me. (like heart attack you know)! seroiusly!

I agree I would be wary if I was surrounded by spiders like black widows and Trantularas that come from the wild. I have seen programmes about them and how deadly they can be!!
