There are no snide remarks. Some people are just sick and tired of threads being taken over by tit for tat arguments by people who seem to always want the last word.

And the over use of C&P.

That is so true ummmm.

Sadly it does ruin threads, to the point it's not worth answering.

I agree it wasn't that funny. Hopefully the trauma doesn't give her a complex about ships or loud noises. Do you think that the ships captain saw her and done this especially for her or that it was signalling as it was coming into or leaving the port?
As I said earlier, the girls was 'tooting' and signalling in the hope of a response - she got one, it made her jump.

I am really sorry my post has generated so much negative reaction especially from AH

Look at it from the aspect of the ship's crew...Someone sees a little girl on the quay giving a 'toot toot' arm movement. Isn't that nice we'll give one back 'throom throom'. I think the little girl is surprised, no scared and thrilled by the experience.
I agree, Janzman.
Now we have evolved from a simple difference of opinion , where the minority is happy to be the odd one out, and the majority are busy being unpleasant about it – into a side rant about me and my posting.

The ladies who apologised, thank you for your graciousness, received with gratitude, accepted without reservation.

The rest of you, I leave with a quote from one of my favourite writers, Clive James – ‘I have never been pleased enough about my own nature to be fully contemptuous about anybody else’s.’
That's how I saw it Janzman, thanks for posting it.

Living next to water, I've had it for years albeit on a smaller scale, children quacking at ducks waiting for a response.

The hilarity caused by a reply is heart warming.

lol ... how are 'The rest of you' supposed to take that answer?

Obviously it's not snide or and attack ... so what is it?
a denouement?
Andy,
I had that face when I saw Rammstein.
“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”
― Dr. Seuss
As far as this thread goes there's only one little girl crying and that's A Hughes, he spends everyday taking over peoples threads arguing with anyone that doesn't share his views yet throws his toys out of the pram when a couple of people pull him up on it.

Delusion?
Have just looked at the video again and stopped it on 25 seconds. The face could just as easily developed into a large grin but even if she was startled for a second or two, it's all part of growing up.
Hey mams, the cat was indeed brave and now training to be a life guard. :)
