I have just changed the central locking remote control batteries and now they dont work at all. Does anyone know why?

Check your manual. After changing batteries you have to re-program the key. This sometimes means putting it in the ignition. turning on and pressing one of the buttons.

Thanks very much. I've changed the batteries before with no problems. I got away with it last time without any need to re-program. I must have been lucky.

To recode remotes on many Rovers try this:

remove battery from remote
press and hold each button for a few seconds
put in your new battery
unlock the car with the key then press the lock button 5 times in quick presses.
