I thought that Coronation Street star Marc Anwar had been sacked, yet he appeared in the soap on Monday?

I think they filmed scenes before he was sacked .

The series is filmed at least 3 months in advance. The producers have cut many of his scenes but it is impossible to cut them all. He will last be seen on the Street around Christmas.

I'm guessing his wife finds out about his affair and throws him out?

It amuses me to spot the fillers where his scenes have been deleted.

I suppose the affair is the best way to get rid of him and Alya doesn't seem to love him any more either !
