It is so disappointing when they do things like this. If Prospect doesn't want us to enter the competition after downloading the crossword I wish that they would come out and say so.

This has been mentioned on AB before, I'm certain. It could be their way of deterring non-subscription attempts - even if you fly through the puzzle, you can email it in but the rules state "Entries must be received *BY* 28th October" - I guess they'd say that *ON* that date doesn't count.

Shortly after we sent the last issue to print, we decided to move the issue we are working on now back a week to allow us to cover the US election. Our press night for the December issue was supposed to be 2nd November so we would have missed the result—hardly acceptable given the enormity of the potential situation! We’ve moved it back a week to the 9th to allow us to cover it.

Ultimately it means that they’ll be open for a little while longer. Until the middle of next week. There wasn’t a way to amend the dates for the document uploaded to the website, unfortunately.
