Ahhh we're a nice bunch, it's just the ozzies don't like like us :-)
what was that all about, ummmm? Australia has a very strong Irish history (which is how words like "sheila" got into the language).

Perhaps they're thought not to drink enough by Australian standards...

Tam, I'm sure it was said with anger, knowing these people are making for one destination & that being the UK, & what's happening???? the 20year children with beards are coming over.
Oh come on Tambo, Mikey was confused and thought we were discussing the Irish !
Naomi, I'm not sure what relevance past disagreements have save to form a smokescreen For your lack of facts once again.
Zacs-master, I wouldn’t attribute your attitude to me in the past to ‘disagreements’ and I’ve given you two links confirming that some migrants are being re-settled in towns and villages – so no ‘lack of facts’.
jno - I can't remember where they were at the time but I gather the Irish had a bit of a rep for scrapping.

Her cousin came back with a Ozzie husband!!
may just have been the one pub perhaps? That doesn't sound like the Aussies at all, taking against white people. Lots of the early convicts were Irish who'd been arrested in England for this and that (probably no worse than scrapping).
I think it was just the one pub that refused them but she said they weren't really liked on the social scene. She never had a problem getting a job.
when I think of the number of Aussies you can trip over in Dublin...
Naomi, you're two days late on the facts. If they had been available at the time of MY original comments I would have delighted in posting them in support of the OP but at the time the facts were scant to say the least. M y post of two days ago read:
'Naomi, I'm not sure where they are living. It could be right next door but the facts don't seem to be available. The best I can do is my earlier BBC link which says that will be living in old Gendarmeries (?), Holiday villages etc.'

You then decided to have a rant at me for being ironic. And what on earth your banging on about in reference to 'irrational demands' I have no idea. It obviously rattled your cage at the time and I seem to recall you boasting some time ago that you didn't let things get to you. Well, obviously some comments do. I welcome a sign of sapient humanity in you though!
you're
Zacs-Master, And speaking of rattling cages .... oh dear! :o)
