The software is no longer listed among the freebies offered on Nero's website but it's still available on FileHippo (which is safe):

I'm confused because the 'connecting' part with a dongle usually just means plugging it into a USB port. (I'm also not sure what a 'film dongle' is anyway).

However if you're simply looking for a program to watch streamed video with, VLC remains your best option.

As I said in my original post, Neria Media Home is safe if you download it from a reputable source. The first place to look for software should always be the developer's own website but, since Nero have discontinued that freebie, you'll need to look elsewhere.

FileHippo is totally safe, so you can download Nero Media Home from there without any worries.
