Dont know why the GP don't have ultra sound machines in the surgery.
The doctor I used to visit while living in Switzerland (single doctor practise ) had one in his office. They also used to do blood tests on the spot.
Blood taken on arrival and 10-15 minutes later when you saw doc , he had results to use as a reference on his screen. Yes Mr Raven you have a chest infection , white blood cell count is high and protein in blood is high (I think that's what indicated it). It was almost a one stop shop ...he ale had a ECG machine. Saved referring patients to hospital for simple tests.
