But I do love the lighter mornings and its not long before we get to 21st and the shortest day. Once that is behind us, we've turned a corner on the way to spring.
In the meantime lets enjoy the apples, parsnips and butternut squash!

I am extremely lucky because I remain unaffected by the light or by the weather.
To me, getting out of bed feels like major surgery any day, so doesn't matter if it's daylight or darkness.
I can go to sleep if the sun is streaming through the window at mid-day or it's black as pitch.

I love it! An extra hour in bed and (t.b.h.) it's better than the gradual descent into darkness. I'm used to switching on the light already - and there are the lighter hours in Spring to look forward to.
When I lived in France, the response to any comment was a shrug and 'C'est l'hiver' then in Spring it was 'C'est l'ete' - with another shrug! Fine by me.:)
