Builders Knowledge Needed!

Hi everyone!

Is anyone able to give me a ROUGH estimate for what it might cost to turn a garage into a kitchen (a space with little/no plumbing) + also creating a utility and WC in the old kitchen area? Sorry if I've missed out any jet details which might help to give a clearer answer!

Mission impossible clipclop methinks. What type of garage? Cavity wall with DPC? Does it need plastering and insulation, windows doors, can a knock through to main house me done easily, does it need a ceiling? How far away are the drains? Heating required and will the current system handle it? How many kitchen units and what quality units are you looking for. Get the man in and think 20k as a start point.

Thanks Togo! I knew I'd be rubbish at giving vital info!
To be honest I don't know! I'm assuming it's a breeze blocked garage attached to the house so should be able to knock through but, yes plastering etc would be required. Thanks for giving a rough idea of £20k!

Get at least 3 companies to give you a quote. Then you will have an idea
You have not even told us the size ( floor area) of the garage!

Sorry Clipclop. but Togo is absolutely right. A great deal of information is needed before even the roughest estimates could be given.

No figure given without knowing the whole story would be of any use to you at all. Anything from £10k to £30k. so, you really do need to have someone take a look.

Haha I know!! I'm sorry!! :-D we've been to look at a house that hasn't even hit the market yet so I don't have the official stats and room sizes yet!
