Did anyone see Watchdog last night that highlighted the filthy crates the shopping is delivered in, usually without the benefit of carrier bags?

Unless you regularly wash and disinfect your 'bags for life' or any type of reusable bag they will have the same bacteria in them.

Orrible.

Morrison's is the only supermarket that gives me a free carrier bag for raw meat, fish and poultry without asking, even though that is the law.
I didn't see the programme but heard it showed some nasty facts. One reason why I make my own shopping bags & every few weeks bung them in my washing machine!

Good for you! What do you make them from?
I saw it and though my fresh stuff does largely come bagged (Tesco) I am wondering whether to tick 'with bags' on future orders.
Tesco bag everything.
I'd say 85% of my shop comes in the crate unwrapped, tins, packets etc but unwrapped veg and packaged meat does get bagged.
//Tesco bag everything//

probably because their product substitution policy includes rats.

:-)

Had they ordered Ratatouille?
HC, I make them from double thickness cotton fabric. I'm always sewing as some peeps on here are aware. Very easy to make & have made loads for friends. I always guarantee they will never wear out!

You crafty sew and sew, thelewis :D
Mams...that's what I meant :-) Anything food stuff that is loose gets bagged.
Question Author
Ocado bag everything in correctly labelled bags - cupboard, fridge or freezer.
They also take them back and pay 5p for each one.
Not used Ocado for a while.

Gotcha Ummmm, sorry.
Question Author
I keep an eye on their offers and only order when I can get £40 of half price stuff that I actually need and use. Works out cheaper than Aldi :D
Good thinking.
Asda are slowly sinking.

How long until Walmart pulls the plug?
